DJ Normal 4 has admitted to sexually assaulting women at a gig in Bristol last week. In a long Facebook post, the artist, AKA Tim Schumacher, recounted hearing accusations that he had "sexually assaulted women by words and tried to kiss and grab after them." Schumacher claimed he does not recall his behaviour—he said he had blacked out "for at least two hours" after drinking and taking MDMA—but that it was relayed to him afterwards. The incident took place on Thursday, February 21st at the Love Inn in Stokes Croft. In a note to attendees a few days after the event, the promoter of the night, Monkey Sounds, said: "Regrettably, we'd like to apologise for our headliner leaving his set early and the rest of his behaviour at the end of the night. We pride ourselves on trying to create a safe space at our parties and are taking the issue very seriously. We hope this didn't affect your night and we will make sure it doesn't happen again." Resident Advisor has contacted the promoters for comment.

"I deeply apologize to the women for what happened," said Schumacher, "and I cannot imagine how horrifying this must be but I swear this is not my general me. What was told to me within the last days is truly shocking, I am out of words to be honest and I deeply want to apologize again. I am so ashamed and I would really like to to make amends with the victims for my disgusting behavior." He went on to say he wanted to "carry the full responsibility for the circumstances" and would cooperate with any legal action. A few hours before Schumacher's post, the London promoter Haŵs, who had booked the DJ to play at Rye Wax tonight, released a statement on Facebook, saying Schumacher had been withdrawn from the lineup for "safety reasons," but did not disclose further details. "The wellbeing of our attendees is paramount to our night, and to creating a safe environment for everyone joining us at Rye Wax," the statement read. The night will go ahead with another headliner.
