Lucifer’s Tom Ellis proves even the devil can’t help but cry over Queer Eye

It’s official – even Lucifer himself can’t help but blub at Queer Eye, and now Tom Ellis is wanting the gang to be his new besties.

Tom, who fronts the devilish Netflix series, is still living it up in his honeymoon phase with new wife Meghan Oppenheimer ahead of season five beginning production, and the pair of them have completely fallen for the Fab Five.

So much so, Tom admitted that the latest series, which dropped last week, had him ‘crying more than ET’ which is saying something.

Taking to Twitter to declare his love for the show, Tom wrote: ‘Dear @QueerEye I thought nothing would make me cry more than ET. That was until I discovered QE.

‘I absolutely love the kindness and fun that you wonderful men spread. It never fails to make me cry and smile. Please can me and my wife be your friends? she has Amazing hair @jvn’

Jonathan Van Ness, the show’s hair stylist and grooming specialist, was more than up for the challenge, responding with a series of dancing and pride emojis with the simple: ‘Yes loves’.

And just like that, the crossover we didn’t know we needed is now the one thing we want to see more of in this world.

Maybe Netflix can drop a special ahead of Lucifer’s final season next year?

Though what exactly they would plan to do with the suited and booted devil remains to be seen – seeing as he has more confidence in his dapper suits than anyone the team would’ve come across so far.

Maybe design specialist Bobby Berk could do him a favour and give hell a bit of a sprucing up?

Despite fan campaigns to keep the show afloat, Lucifer’s team have confirmed that the fifth season will be the show’s last, rounding off the crime/romance/hellish story with a neat little bow.

Kevin Alejandro, who plays Detective ‘Douche’ Dan Espinoza on the series, revealed that he and the rest of the cast had been pre-warned just hours before the news broke that season five will end the show.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, he said: ‘The day they announced it to the public, we found out hours before that. At first, you know, it’s kind of bittersweet, because originally we were just waiting to hear if we’d been picked up for another season, and so there’s that.

‘They started with the news of “we’re picked up!” and of course there was happiness, and then there was the bittersweetness of “but this is the last one”.’

Lucifer season four is available on Netflix now.
