“Can’t believe I’m revealing the art and title for my new album…"
Thanks to multi-hyphenate queen Selena Gomez, the holidays have come early this year. On Thursday, Dec. 12, the 27-year-old singer gifted fans an exclusive first look at the artwork and name of her new album, which is set to release on Jan. 10, 2020.
Along with a colorful video with clips from her latest music videos, as well as private stills and frames from past iterations of herself, Selena wrote in an Instagram caption: “Can’t believe I’m revealing the art and title for my new album RARE, out January 10th. It’s the most honest music I’ve ever made and I can’t wait for you to hear my heart. You can preorder RARE now.”
Her Instagram video also included a snippet of a new song, which we can confidently guess is also titled RARE.
Although the album isn’t out for a few more weeks, the singer has already released two tracks off the EP, “Lose You to Love Me” and “Look at Her Now,” both of which fans believe to be about her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber, who married Hailey Baldwin last year.
Selena, who was recently seen promoting her new album in London (while wearing a coat we’d quite literally die for), hasn’t released a new album since 2015. In the four years since her previous album, Revival, Selena has continued to take on the film and television industry with her behind-the-scenes work on 13 Reasons Why and Living Undocumented. She has also released several fashion collections with brands like Puma and Coach, and proven herself to be a true fashion icon with her frequent style evolutions and hair changes.
While fans still don’t have an official cover to gawk at yet, we’re sure more album announcements are incoming as we near closer and closer to the release date.
